With only two days in New Orleans, and not wanting anything to do with getting back in a car, we faced a challenge trying to sample the best of New Orleans cuisine. In fact the first night, after 3 days driving, we ended up getting pizza via DoorDash. (It was amazing btw).
On our first full day in the city we ended up settling for Mr. Ed's Oyster Bar & Restaurant right up the road from where we were staying. The lighting was sterile, the decor tired. It felt a bit like a cafeteria at a senior living center. But we were determined to have some etouffee and we were not disappointed!
Then, on Day 2, we stumbled on a gem -- Peche, one of Nola's finest -- for lunch. Fried oysters and beer. A delicious gumbo. And some amazing brussels sprouts with a cajun flair.
